Learning the Guitar:
1. Get a guitar - buy one, borrow one, hire one, what ever. Its very difficult to understand the guitar and the music theory or the fundamental physics without the instrument.

2. You need to get a good guitar. Here's the lowdown on that.

3. This book is useful for at home unsupervised study. If you have any difficulties or certain points that you wish to be more clearly explained, post a comment on the relevant page.

4. Its best said on the outset that the best way to learn the guitar is to get a personal tutor.

5. You need a fixed amount of time every day, or at least, every couple of days to learn and practice the guitar if you wish to master it.

6. The guitar will give you lots of painful fingers for the first few (about 6 months ) till the callouses fully develop on your fingers. Just plough through - its not that excruciating. Guitar is definitely a no pain no gain thing. So keep that in mind before you decide to take up the guitar. It will be hard, but it will be fruitful in the end.

7. Never get demoralised. Hammer on.

8. Music theory is a vast and complicated subject. For the basic level players who can not enroll for an college degree in music, a simple text book would be helpful. This e-book is distributed free of charge on this site. The book is divided into individual PDF chapters, the text of which is placed on the respective pages.

Videos - links to a YouTube search page for the song
         (original video / video tutorial if anyone has posted)

The header of each song page contains some of the source and ownership details of the song. All artists / owners of the song have not been mentioned barring the vocalist(s) (in general), as the purpose of this is to serve to identify the song only. There are several copyrights holders to a song and mentioning them all may not be feasible, especially for older songs, without spending superfluous amounts of time on researching. The links from the headers are to the Wikipedia (for neutral opinion) page of the same (in general) and may contain further details.

Songs / videos are not embedded within pages for copyrights reasons - the 'videos' link only takes you to a YouTube search page for the song. If it has been made available there you may be able to play it. Moreover, there may be video tutorials uploaded there by others.
