Strum Pattern:
Time Signature: 4/4

Option 1: The song is best played using a combination of strum and broken chords like this:

Play single down-strokes for the verses, where you need to change chords fast.
Play broken chords or arpeggios for the soft parts such as the intro, choruses and interludes.

Option 2: If you want to strum the song, try a simple pattern like |DUU| (remember its a 3/4 time song)
(Explanation - 3 beats per meter; the stroke that is marked with a (') is played and muted; the beats in brackets are divided into subunits of equal duration as noted).

Option 3: Play an arpeggio using bar chords and the lower four strings. A pattern like 4>2>1>1>2>3 is great for the soft parts.

Between the meter chord changes occur throughout mandating fast chord switches. Its a slow rhythmic song in 3/4 (waltz) time.

Playings Tips and Song Notes:
The chords are simple only if transposed down or up by a semitone. Its a great song to practice the bar chords of the C# scale though.

Try singing along or playing along with the track to best guess the strum and chord positions.

The song is the Hindi version of the Bengali Rabindrasangeet, Phule Phule Dhole Dhole. Its not a translation and shares only the tune of the choruses with its muse.

Plain Lyrics:
Hmm hmm...Hmm hmm...
La la la...Hey hey hey...
Hmm hmm hmm...You are mine.
Hmm hmm hmm...La la la...
Hey hey hey...Say you are mine...
Piyu bole, piya bole...
Hmm hmm hmm hmm...Jaanu na.
Jiya dole, haule haule,
Kyon yeh dole, jaanu na.

Dil ki jo baatein hain, baatein jo dil ki hain,
Dil hi mein rakhna piya.
Lab to na kholoon main, kholoon na lab to par,
Aakhon se sab keh diya.
Piyu bole, piya bole, kya yeh bole, jaanu na.
Jiya dole, haule haule, kyon yeh dole, jaanu na.
Piyu bole, piya bole, kya yeh bole, jaanu na.
Jiya dole, haule haule, kyon yeh dole, jaanu na.

Ek nadi se maine puchha, "Itla ke chal di kahaan?
Door tere pe-ka ghar hai - balkhake chal di kahaan?"
Thoda woh ghabraayi, thoda sa sharmaayi,
Ujhli yahaan se wahaan.
Saagar se milne ka, uska, to sapna tha,
Meri hi tarah piya.
Jiya dole, haule haule, kyon yeh dole, jaanu na.
Piyu bole, piya bole, kya yeh bole, jaanu na.
Jiya dole, haule haule, kyon yeh dole, jaanu na.

Maine puchha ek ghata se, "Itra ke chal di kahaan?
Pyaas ki bhari zameen hai - barson bhi; tarsaao na."
Thoda woh ghurraayi, thoda sa tharraayi,
Garji yahaan, phir wahaan.
Preet lootati phir, jham-jham-jham barsi woh,
Tere hi tarha, piya.
Piyu bole, piya bole, kya yeh bole, jaanu na.
Jiya dole, haule haule, kyon yeh dole, jaanu na.
Piyu bole, piya bole, kya yeh bole, jaanu na.
Jiya dole, haule haule, kyon yeh dole, jaanu na.
Hmm hmm hmm hmm, hmm hmm hmm hmm, hmm hmm hmm hmm, la la la.
Piyu bole, piya bole, la la la la, jaanu na.
